Ownboard Prometheus: a purpose-built gear-drive board

The Prometheus is Ownboard's largest fixed-format all-terrain board in this set. Its drivetrain combines two customized 6384 170KV motors with a LinnPower V4.3 enclosed gear drive and MBS Matrix III trucks. The current catalog offers one mechanical configuration: 2WD, a Samsung 50S 1170Wh battery, and 200mm pneumatic tires, with separate USA- and China-warehouse selections.

Power, battery, and claimed range

The 13S5P battery is rated at 25Ah and 1170Wh. Ownboard lists up to 60 km/h, up to 40 miles of range, and a 45% hill claim. These are manufacturer maximums. The range listing does not identify rider mass, speed mode, terrain, temperature, or tire pressure, so it should not be treated as a guaranteed Canadian trip distance.

Deck and all-terrain hardware

The 960 x 270mm deck uses an 11-ply construction described as bamboo and Canadian maple around three layers of triaxial fibreglass. It supports bindings and sits on 200mm pneumatic tires with quick-release hubs. Listed weight is 20.5kg and maximum payload is 120kg. The package includes an OLED remote, 5A 350W GAN charger, adapter, T-tool, shock blocks, spare inner tube and bearing, gear grease, uninstalled binding, and mini pump. Ownboard does not publish a full-charge time on the product page.

Canadian purchase check

The product page says 365 days of warranty, while Ownboard policy pages still state 90 or 180 days. Canada transit guidance also conflicts: the shipping page lists 55-65 days by sea or 25-30 days by air, while the FAQ says 15-20 days. Confirm warranty, warehouse routing, duties, returns, and final delivery terms in writing. The IP56 listing does not make wet riding advisable, and local rules determine where a 60 km/h electric skateboard may be used.
