Cygolite Hotshot Pro 150 USB Rear Bike Light

A rear light for riders who set it deliberately

The Cygolite Hotshot Pro 150 USB is a compact rear bicycle light with more adjustment than a one-pattern flasher. The exact Amazon.ca listing identifies 150-lumen output, six night and daytime modes, user-tuneable flash speed, a secured hard mount, USB charging, and IP64 water resistance.

What changes between rides

Steady, Zoom, SteadyPulse, Triple Flash, DayLightning, and Random Flash serve different visibility situations. The point is not to use the most aggressive pattern every time. Select a setting for the road, weather, nearby riders, and applicable local equipment rules. Cygolite lists up to 90 lumens in steady mode and a 2 to 210 hour runtime range across settings.

A short list of useful practical details

It uses a built-in lithium-ion battery, remembers the last mode, signals low battery, and includes seat-post and seat-stay mounting options. The system weighs 59 g in current Cygolite material. An older Canadian retail entry lists 54 g, so 59 g is used here as the current manufacturer figure.

Canadian riding note and availability

Provincial lighting rules differ. Ontario permits a flashing red rear lamp at any time, while Alberta guidance calls for a non-flashing red tail lamp and reflector at night.
